[It stings to read her reply about how he's not in this "alone" but before he accident got both Robin and Eddie tied up in the horrors of the Upside Down he was. Nancy had been so focused on Jonathan and when the two actually started dating, Steve became like all exes did.
( That’s entirely on her, though in all fairness Nancy probably needs a wake-up call on that note - she doesn’t seem to realise just how much her behaviour has affected Steve, how her focus on Jonathan put him in an awkward position in the middle of this whole thing and so, even though she speaks from a place of concern, she probably doesn’t get it.
She’s trying her best, though. At least right now, she is. )

( There’s still accountability - and Nancy knows, at least deep down, that Steve would be entitled to not trusting her. To not want to talk to her. But he is! He always goes back to an empty home. He had no visitors those times he went to the hospital for injuries he suffered from Hargrove and the Russians.
