Yeah. It could be. [She sighs softly and lays her head on his shoulder.]

I told you that I'm fine. I mean it, alright?

I see that. [She glances up as Hopper steps into the room, heading in their direction with a faint glare at Steve.]

I think you're about to get sprung.

[bigboyvibes]

Bout time.

[Steve mutters lowly, shifting because the handcuffs make him extremely uncomfortable.]

Thought I was being kept for a second.

[yesdingus]

[Hopper comes over and undoes the handcuffs, and orders him to stay out of trouble. Robin rises to her feet, reaching out to help Steve up to his feet, her hand catching his and sighing softly at his bruised knuckles.]

Let's get you home.

[bigboyvibes]

[Steve gives a small nod to Hopper. He'll be on his best behavior as long as Robin isn't bothered again.

Actually, that goes for anyone he cares about. ]

I need to check on, Nance.

[yesdingus]

Okay. I'll wait for you guys outside.

[She wraps her arms around herself and heads for the door.]

Alright.

[Steve tries not to be long but he wants to make sure that Nancy is alright too. It wouldn't be fair to just leave her behind.

Before long he's joining Robin outside.]

[She's leaning against the banister when he comes out and she glances at him sideways.]

All right, jail bird. Time to fly the coop.

Seriously?

[He mutters as they walk towards his vehicle. He can't help but glance over his shoulder to see if Nancy was heading out herself. ]

Like I could resist.

[She crawls into the passenger seat, glancing in the rearview mirror and watching as Nancy gets into her own car. She gives her a little wave.]

Funny.

[Steve watches as Nancy heads towards her own vehicle and gives them both a small wave in return. ]

[She watches as Nancy drives away, and she chews her lower lip.]

Where'd you find him?

[bigboyvibes]

Not far from the High School. Looked like he might have been hiding out around there somewhere, maybe?

[Steve wasn't exactly sure. Maybe he had fled town and eventually snuck back under the radar?]

[She nodded at that and stared out the windshield. She's relieved that they didn't find him near her parents' house. That would have been extra creepy.]

....Are you mad?

[It's a question that's been lingering heavy on Steve's mind. Robin still seems distant and off. ]

[Robin blinks a couple of times and then turns her head to look at him.]

Not at you, no. [She exhales, resting her hands in her lap.]

What is it then ?

I guess I'm mostly annoyed with myself. I feel like I should have handled this differently. I mean, I went with you and Nance into a demon dimension and lobbed molatov cocktails at an actual monster.

[And she can't seem to shake this off for some reason.]

You shouldn't beat yourself up over any of this.

[The Upside Down was its own separate beast. This? This was different. ]

This was unexpected.

[She wonders if that's true. Given her history with Dash, she should have known better than to let him get that close to her. And most women she knows have gone through something like this. As far as she's concerned, she got lucky it had just been a kiss. Some bruises. She rubs her wrist absently. It had driven the point home though: she wasn't going to be safe anywhere. Maybe not ever. And it was a depressing thought to have.]

[Steve finds himself shifting in the driver's seat, eyes focused along the road as he drives. After a second, he lets out a low sigh before he glances over at her. ]

I should have been there with you.

[yesdingus]

You can't be with me all the time, Steve.

[They're pretty close to being together all the time, though.]

I should have with this. The asshole wouldn't have bothered you.
